Nexium Control 40mg Gastro-Resistant Tablets treats heartburn and acid reflux. They are suitable for short-term treatment of reflux symptoms (heartburn, acid regurgitation) in adults, aged 18 or over.
Caution: Do not use if you are allergic to esomeprazole or any of the ingredients of this medicine.
How to use:

Nexium tablets are used to treat symptoms of frequent heartburn, a burning sensation in the stomach or esophagus, and acid reflux. Nexium may also be used for prevention of ulcers in the stomach and esophagus. Nexium should be used only when prescribed by a doctor.
The Nexium tablets contain 20 mg of a proton pump inhibitor, esomeprazole. This medicine should be taken at the same time each day for the shortest possible time needed to reduce the risk of developing stomach problems (such as heartburn and acid reflux). If stomach acid is being refluxed from the esophagus, the medicine may not work as well. If the medicine is being used for prevention of heartburn, take it at the same time each day for the shortest possible time needed to reduce the risk of developing heartburn. The medicine is usually taken for 4 to 6 days by mouth.
Nexium tablets are not for use by children.
Nexium is available in two strengths: 20 mg and 40 mg.
Nexium 20mg
Nexium tablets are usually taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking a meal containing fatty food.
Nexium may also be used for prevention of heartburn, which occurs when heartburn occurs in people with a history of heartburn. The use of Nexium in people with heartburn has not been studied.
Nexium 20mg is usually taken once each day, as prescribed by a doctor. The amount of time it takes to work depends on the amount of acid in the stomach. The amount of acid in the stomach will depend on the amount of Nexium taken. It will usually take 1 to 2 hours to work after eating a light meal. Nexium can help you control acid reflux, but it may take longer to work if you have heartburn. Nexium is usually taken for 4 to 6 days by mouth.
Nexium 40mg

Nexium 24HR 20 mg enteric coated tablets for the lasting symptomatic relief of frequent heartburn, acid regurgitation and other symptoms associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux.
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the Consumer Medicine Information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.
Always read the label, use only as directed. Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you notice any of the following and they worry you: nausea or vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, headache, wind, stomach pain, skin rash, itchy skin, dizziness or dry mouth. These side effects are usually mild.
